Latest figures show record levels of carbon dioxide from the burning of fossil fuels are set to be released this year. However, emissions are potentially peaking and renewables are booming, we just need to accelerate the decarbonisation transition or potentially risk seeing temperatures rise almost 2.6C above pre-industrial levels by the end of the century.
