A rapidly growing ESG software start up is seeking a Sustainability Lead to be based near London.

The business produces a carbon accounting software and you will be their carbon accounting subject matter expert, supporting clients with any technical queries, offering strategic advice to shape product development, ensuring their methodology is accurate and they are planning for future regulations.

Key duties will include:

  • Oversee and improve sustainability reporting processes.

  • Support the sales process by answering technical carbon accounting queries.

  • Support the software platforms product development and strategic direction.

  • Drive innovation, ensuring the business stays ahead of regulations, trends and sustainability initiatives.

  • Board and C-suite advisory and stakeholder management.


Candidates MUST have:

  • Good experience with GHG accounting principles, covering scopes 1-3.

  • Experience of ESG reporting frameworks such as SECR and TCFD.

  • Good track record within sustainability, either at a consultancy; OR in-house corporate sustainability department with a focus on corporate ESG strategy and reporting.

  • Good client facing skills, including presenting and stakeholder management.

  • Strong understanding of decarbonisation strategies for supply chains.


Desirable are:

  • Experience working with ESG software.

  • Experience working in a start-up.

  • Experience of planning and implementing net zero decarbonisation strategies.

  • Understanding of data analysis, data modelling and associated methodologies.
